This two day, one night package is entirely focused on experiencing the iconic Kandy to Ella train journey widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful rail routes. Guests will travel through a breathtaking landscape of massive, emerald green tea plantations, misty cloud forests, and deep valleys. The tour is meticulously planned to secure the best seats for the scenic train ride and maximize time spent exploring the picturesque town of Ella, starting and ending with airport transfers.
Day 01: Arrival, Kandy & The Blue Train Magic
The tour begins with a morning pickup from CMB and a swift transfer inland to Kandy, the cultural heart of the island. After a quick cultural stop, the focus shifts entirely to the adventure of boarding the famed "Blue Train" for the unforgettable high-altitude journey to Ella.
Morning Transfer (08:00 AM): Pickup from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) and transfer to Kandy (Approx. 3.5 hours drive).
Cultural Stop (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM): Brief visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (exterior view) or a quick lunch stop in Kandy.
Train Journey Prep (12:30 PM - 03:30 PM):
Lunch: Enjoy a packed lunch or a quick meal before boarding.
Boarding: Transfer to Kandy Railway Station and board the reserved carriage for the scenic journey to Ella.
Train Ride (03:30 PM - 06:30 PM): Enjoy the spectacular "Blue Train" journey, passing through tea estates, tunnels, and dramatic mountains.
Evening (06:30 PM onwards): Arrive at Ella station, check into the charming boutique hotel/accommodation, and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Stay in Ella.
Day 02: Iconic Ella Views & Departure
The second day is dedicated to exploring Ella's most famous man-made and natural attractions before commencing the return journey. The highlight will be visiting the iconic Nine Arch Bridge and enjoying the panoramic mountain views.
Morning Exploration (08:00 AM - 12:00 PM):
Breakfast: Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel.
Nine Arch Bridge: Visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge (The Bridge in the Sky) for photography and to witness a train pass over (time permitting).
Viewpoint Hike: A moderate, short trek to Little Adam's Peak or a nearby viewpoint for stunning panoramic views of the Ella Gap.
Lunch & Departure Prep (12:00 PM - 01:30 PM): Enjoy lunch in Ella town and check out from the accommodation.
Afternoon Transfer (01:30 PM - 07:00 PM): Commence the comfortable, long-distance return transfer, utilizing the expressway route, directly to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB).
